Teppanyaki Lamb Meatballs

We love cooking for friends and family, especially on our Cook-N-Dine Teppanyaki grill. This is one of those recipes that are a crowd pleaser, easy to prepare and make, and can yield enough for guests. Depending on how many guests you have, or if you are planning to save some leftovers for the next day, the recipe can easily be adjusted. We also made a delicious tahini dip to go with it, and a hummus dip would also go quite well with these beautiful lamb meatballs on the Cook-N-Dine Teppanyaki.

Cook-N-Dine Teppanyaki Lamb Meatballs Prep

Lamb Meatball Prep

In a large mixing bowl, combine: 1lb of ground lamb, 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs, 1/2 cup of chopped, fresh parsley, 1/3 cup of minced onion, 2 minced garlic cloves, 1 egg, 1 tsp. of lemon zest, 1 tsp. kosher salt, 1 tsp. ground coriander seed, 1/2 tsp. cayenne, 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, 1/2 tsp. all spice. Mix well and form into 1.5-inch balls, then flatten them slightly into small patties about 3/4" thick, and make a small indentation at the center of each patty.

If you have prepared the Tahini Yogurt dip ahead of time, go ahead and preheat the Cook-N-Dine Teppanyaki at level 5. Otherwise, place the lamb meatballs in the fridge to keep them chilled while you prepare the dip.

Tahini Yogurt Dip

Mix together 1 cup of plain yogurt, 1/4 cup of Tahini paste, 2 tsp. lemon juice, 1 tsp. olive oil and salt to taste. Set aside as a dip for lamb meatballs.

Once the Cook-N-Dine Teppanyaki has preheated to level 5, raise the temperature up to 8; when the orange indicator light turns off, the desired temperature has been reached and you are ready to cook! Allowing enough space between the lamb meatball patties, place them on the hot cooking center of the Teppanyaki grill. The spacing between the patties allows for proper browning, to get that delicious crisp on the outside.

After about 6-7 minutes, the lamb meatball patties should be loosened from the hot cooking center of the Cook-N-Dine Teppanyaki grill, allowing for you to take a thin spatula and flip them over. For meatballs that are still slightly pink at the center, cook for 5 minutes; for well-done lamb meatballs, cook for 7 minutes.

If you plan on cooking anything else on the center of the Cook-N-Dine Teppanyaki grill, you can move the meatballs out to the warming area. In this case, you will want to reduce the cooking time by a minute or two as they will continue to slowly cook on the warming area. Once you are ready to serve and eat the meatballs, in addition to the Tahini Yogurt dip, Hummus or Tzatziki dip is also a great option, along with mustard or applesauce. Guten apetit!
